What we do

Mission & Vision

The purpose of the Warehouse Business Improvement District is:

"To encourage the development of a vibrant and prosperous
Warehouse District by improving the area's appearance and image, promoting and marketing the area, and undertaking initiatives and projects
that facilitate the ongoing rejuvenation and redevelopment of the area."

Our vision is stated as:

"The Regina's Warehouse District is a unique, rich, colourful, and diverse experience, respecting and celebrating our history as reflected in our architecture, culture, business, and entertainment. This is seen in:

  • Our embracing and reclaiming heritage properties
  • Our vibrant entrepreneurial spirit
  • Our independent and expressive cultural and artistic endeavors
  • Our contemporary warehouse loft living and working spaces
  • Our innovative green and people-embracing streetscape

We celebrate our uniqueness and collaborate with other areas of the city to strengthen Regina's overall social, economic, and environmental vitality."

Our strategic thrusts are:

Administration - Developing a stable organization with sufficient resources, both human and financial, to achieve its objectives.

Marketing and promotion - Attracting Regina residents and visitors to the area and create a positive view of the area. Examples are hosting festivals, advertising, internal and external communication, and publications.

Image - Creating an attractive and safe environment that builds upon the heritage and other features of the area. Examples are clean-up and area decoration (e.g., flower planting).

Improvements - Undertaking long-term enhancements and capital improvements that improve the area.  Examples are partnerships to improve streetscape and municipal infrastructure, planting trees, and expanding the banner program.

Development - Pursuing research and new initiatives that create new opportunities for the area. Examples are housing, heritage conservation, and implementing the long-term development plan
